Gwella Launch 21 October 2009

On 21 October 2009, a one-day symposium was held to showcase AU's Gwella projects as well as launch the Nexus website and new funding for staff for e-learning development and travel related to e-learning. We used CourseCast to make lecture capture recordings of presentations, and Flip cameras to record video interviews with participants. Several presenters have also contributed case studies for the Nexus website.

We also set up a Blackboard course with samples of various technologies in use, including:

All registrants were automatically enrolled in the Blackboard course. The E-learning Team is happy to enrol any other staff members who wish to have access. If you would like us to enrol you, please send an email to: is-alto@aber.ac.uk.

Video interviews with participants made with the Flip camera

Giles Polglase of CDSAP interviewed participants to find out how they are using technology in teaching, and what impact this has had on students' learning. Participants had good advice to offer other staff who are considering using technology in teaching.
